joy in tehran over trump's sacking of johnbolton

Iran hopes for easing of conflict with washington government after dismissal of u.S. Security adviser john bolton.

"With bolton out as the key supporter of war and economic terrorism (mem. D. Red.(meaning sanctions) against iran, there are now fewer obstacles for the white house to understand the realities in tehran," government spokesman ali rabiei tweeted on wednesday.

Of the opponents of iran, according to the spokesman, "one by one" left the political scene. Bolton had recently promised that the iranian establishment would be overthrown within three months. "But we are still here … And he’s gone," said rabiei.

U.S. President donald trump on tuesday unexpectedly fired his national security adviser. Trump justified the decision by citing substantive differences of opinion.

"I disagreed with many of his proposals, as did others in the administration, and that is why i asked him to resign," trump tweeted. He announced he would name a successor next week.

In recent months, there have been repeated disagreements between trump and bolton, for example with regard to the U.S. Course toward afghanistan, iran and north korea.

Bolton’s tenure ended in dispute: trump and bolton contradicted each other’s accounts. Trump wrote on twitter that he had asked the 70-year-old to resign on monday night. The latter had subsequently declared his withdrawal on tuesday morning. Bolton then spoke out himself on twitter and openly contradicted trump. "I offered my resignation last night and president trump said let’s talk about it tomorrow"." In a text message to the "washington post," bolton added that he would comment on the matter in due course.

Bolton was the third national security adviser in the trump administration. He had been in office since april 2018, succeeding general herbert raymond mcmaster. Bolton was known before he took office as an aubenpolitical hardliner who advocates hardline american nationalism. He was one of the most vocal supporters of the U.S. Invasion of iraq.

In the conflict between the u.S. And iran, which had recently escalated, bolton was considered a supporter of regime change in the islamic republic. According to u.S. Media reports, bolton was a thorn in trump’s side in his attempts to reach out to north korea’s strongman kim jong un. In addition, he said, there have been differences on the issue of afghanistan.

Bolton reportedly opposed a secret meeting trump planned last sunday with taliban representatives at camp david, the u.S. President’s country home. Trump had canceled the meeting on saturday night. He had cited a taliban attack last thursday in kabul that killed twelve people, including a u.S. Soldier, as the reason. The U.S. Has been negotiating an agreement with the taliban for months to pave the way for a withdrawal of U.S. Troops and peace in the country.

U.S. Secretary of state mike pompeo also acknowledged differences with bolton on tuesday. "Ambassador bolton and I have often disagreed, that’s certainly true," pompeo told journalists at the weiben house on tuesday. "But that’s true of a lot of people I deal with."Pompeo added that trump had the right to choose his staff. "He should have people he trusts and values and whose efforts and judgments are useful to him in delivering american foreign policy."

In recent months, trump has faced multiple questions about whether he is satisfied with bolton’s work. He had always defended bolton up to that point, saying for example that he was aware of bolton’s role as a hardliner, but that he also had other advisers who were more moderate.

Bolton’s dismissal is one of an unusually long list of terminations, staff changes and resignations that have occurred in the U.S. Government since trump took office. The white house said on tuesday that deputy national security adviser charles kupperman should take over bolton’s affairs on an interim basis.

U.S. House of representatives speaker nancy pelosi called bolton’s ejection on twitter tuesday "a symbol of the disarray that has bedeviled our allies since day one of the trump administration". The key to america’s national security is stable leadership and strategic aube policy.
